- Grade the area that you will be laying the sod – approximately a 1 ft drop for every 100 ft away from the house.
- We always recommend at least 4 inches of fertile topsoil with no weeds. If you have weeds in your topsoil cultivate them or use a chemical application (always follow the manufacturer’s recommendation for rate of application).
- The soil should be level and firm, but not hard packed.
- Allow approximately ¾ inch next to walkways and driveways for the thickness of the sod.
